  • How to Level Up and Get Rich Fast in Hay Day

Hay Day isn’t just about farming; it’s about strategy. If you want to stop struggling for coins and start unlocking those expensive machines, you need to balance your XP (Experience Points) and Gold.

Here is the ultimate guide to fast-tracking your progress.

    1. Master the Roadside Shop (The Money Maker)

The Roadside Shop is your most powerful tool for earning coins. Forget selling to visitors or completing truck orders if your goal is pure profit.

    • Sell at Max Price: Always set your items to the maximum price. Players with high-level farms often have more money than time and will buy your goods instantly.
    • The Wheat Strategy (“Wheating”): Plant wheat constantly. It grows in 2 minutes. Sell it for 10 coins (or the default price) to move it fast.
    • Bonus Items: The real profit in “Wheating” comes from the rare expansion items (bolts, planks, tapes) that drop while harvesting. Sell the ones you don’t need for a massive profit.

    2. Prioritize High-Value Production

Not all products are created equal. To maximize your gold, focus your machines on items with high resale value:

Corn Bread7Fast to make, always in demand.
    Soy Sauce10Essential ingredient, sells instantly.
Bacon Pie18High profit margin for early game.
Diamond Rings40The ultimate “luxury” item for big bucks.

    3. Leveling Up Fast (XP Strategy)

If you want to unlock new buildings quickly, you need XP. Here is how to get it without going broke:

    • Fill Boat Orders: Boats provide a massive XP boost and vouchers for pets. Use the “Ask for Help” feature on difficult crates to keep the boat moving.
    • Truck Deliveries during Events: Normally, trucks pay less than the shop. However, wait for Double XP Truck Events to clear your barn and skyrocket your level.
    • Revive Trees and Bushes: Helping neighbors by reviving their plants costs you nothing but a tap and grants easy XP.

    4. Smart Resource Management

    • Don’t Sell to NPCs: Visitors who come to your farm usually offer low prices. Unless there is a “Double Coin Visitor Event,” politely tell them no.
    • Keep Machines Running 24/7: Even if you aren’t playing, your machines should be. Load them up with long-production items (like jams or sweaters) before you go to sleep.
    • The Tom Strategy: Use your free Tom boosters to find the most expensive items available at your level (like Shovels or Diamond Rings) and resell them at your Roadside Shop for a 100% profit.

    Pro Tip: The “Barn Trap”

The biggest mistake players make is filling their barn with common crops. Keep your barn lean. Focus on finished goods rather than raw ingredients. You can always buy corn or wheat from the newspaper, but you can rarely find finished cakes or pies.

    1. I disagree. Beggars ask for things you either don’t have at all or things you have the most of. You shouldn’t empty your barn; that’s just barbaric. You’ll naturally end up with more wheat than anything else anyway. Just deal with them after a long break: you’ll need wheat for general farm tasks and for making zoo feed. Right now, the market is flooded with corn and wheat for just 1 coin. Buy it all up. The customers will come.

    2. First of all, you should connect Facebook and add everyone related to the game (you can delete them later and the slots will stay) to expand your shop slots. That way, you won’t have to rely on ‘beggars’ and can sell freely. Secondly, selling expansion/building materials at the default price is a waste; it’s better to sell them in a trading group at the market rate. Instead of making 3k, you’d make 40k. If you do the math, that’s about a million every 8 hours from 100 slots.
